The South Bay is a region in the Los Angeles metropolitan area situated in the Southwest corner of Los Angeles County. It is named after its location along the southern coast of Santa Monica Bay. The region encompasses 15 cities, parts of Los Angeles city, and unincorporated areas, with boundaries defined by the Pacific Ocean, the city of Los Angeles, and the surrounding areas. The South Bay is made up of:
- The Beach Cities of El Segundo, Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach, Redondo Beach, and Torrance.
- The Palos Verdes peninsula which includes Palos Verdes Estates, Rolling Hills, Rolling Hills Estates, and Rancho Palos Verdes.
- The Inland Cities which include Inglewood, Hawthorne, Gardena, Lawndale, Carson, and Lomita.
